- Function: The EN-52461 tool locks the actuators at the correct timing position while servicing oil control valves. It also takes up all slack in the timing chain before you work on timing chains, actuators or camshafts. (Note: When performing camshaft timing or actuator service, secure the actuators for removal and installation of the oil control valves. These oil control valves function as fasteners to attach the camshaft actuators to the camshafts.)
- How To Use: This tool is designed to be installed in lieu of the starter, ensuring that the flywheel is positioned correctly for timing chain maintenance. It locks the flywheel ring‑gear teeth in place to install and tighten flywheel bolts, balance‑shaft bolts, and camshaft actuators. Install the EN‑52476 main body in place of the starter, then turn the flywheel until the spring‑loaded locking pin engages into the flywheel timing hole.
- Usage Tip: Retract the timing pin before tightening any fasteners. Tightening fasteners while the timing pin is seated inside the flywheel timing hole can damage the timing pin on the EN‑52476 tool.
